Elaine grew up in the state of Wisconsin in the USA, surrounded by rolling hills, green houses and dairy farms. From an early age she loved to spend time in her grandparents’ commercial green house walking up and down the aisles of flowers and learning to love colour and light. Perhaps this is what led her to become an artist. Elaine began her career working with water colours because she enjoys the spontaneous and colourful effects that can be achieved. However she also uses acrylics, inks and a bit of collage to achieve other effects. During her studies in Fine Art she developed her skills in painting people but after finishing her degree she expanded her work to include landscapes, often drawn from childhood memories.
