Jess Levine

My artwork evolves in a very organic, experimental and sensory way as I try to describe those things that strike a chord, such as colour, texture, balance, composition and  surface decoration within the making of my abstract work.

Through the process of creating art I strive to achieve a sense of honesty, where the image resonates with the viewer, and where that visual journey is engaging, imaginative and meaningful.

I am very influenced and moved by the work of the artists Matisse, Picasso, De Kooning, De Stael, Nolde, Schwitters, and by the contemporary artists,  Madeline Denaro, David Tress, Kurt Jackson and Stuart Shils.
